Yesterday Desiree and I, the crazy singing duo (sorry no videos this time) headed down to Seattle for the day. It was a beautiful sunny day and it was fun to walk around and just enjoy being in one of my favorite cities. Seattle is probably ranked in my top five favorite cities in the world. Okay, maybe even top 3. Can you guess what the other two are?
We stopped at Wal-Mart for some quick shopping. Then headed to the best sandwich place ever for the tastiest sandwich ever. So good. :)
Took some pictures in front of storefronts... tried pretending we were sitting on the stools but it didn't work so well.
We went and saw Candide at the 5th Avenue Theatre, which is the last musical playing this season for them (next year's season looks AMAZING!). I had not heard much about this musical but knew a bit about the book it is based on. It is about a boy who grows up learning that this world is the best of all possible worlds and everything is the way it is for a God-given purpose. Candide travels throughout the world for many reasons and learns how incredibly corrupt and cruel humankind is and he begins to doubt that this is the best of all possible world. Very interesting. I took a class on this in uni, called 'Suffering and Belief in God', so it was interesting to grapple anew with those questions and to see it through the eyes of Candide. I love thought-provoking things, especially when in the form of a musical! :)
For dinner we went to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner and dessert and it was delightful! Such a wonderful time!
The whole day I had a tough time keeping it a secret that we were throwing Des a surprise bridal shower the next day... but thankfully I didn't let anything slip. Stay tuned tomorrow for a Sunday that was far too full! :)

your other 2 favourite cities? My guess is........Vancouver.....and.........Salzburg??? By the way, your new hairdo looks really cute!
