Chocolate, Cute, Celebrate!

First off, wanted to give a shout out for my mom for mother's day! So great to celebrate motherhood and to have a chance to say thanks for the wonderful job she has done.

My mom is a great travel partner, fun to be around, an amazing cook, has a great sense of humor, loves adventure and is a super hard worker. I love her to bits and am excited for our future travels together!!

Yesterday, my family went out for lunch to celebrate with my mom. We went for Italian which was definitely quite tasty.
In the evening, we had a BBQ which included the best steak I think I have ever had. We had it in honour of my grandma so it was fun to hang out with extended family as well. And a beautiful day on top of it all!

On Saturday night, I had a games and appies night with a bunch of friends and I made squares of which I will post the recipe below because they were the most amazing things ever. Mmmm...1 cup peanut butter
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup Roger's syrup (you could probably use other stuff, but this makes it even better!)
8 tsp. butter or margarine

Put these ingredients in a bowl and microwave them (or you could do it in a saucepan too)

Then add:
4 cups rice crispies
1 cup peanuts
1 cup marshmallows
(those are just approximate measurements, because i definitely just dump in and test consistency)

Stir it all around and then put it in a pan. Put it in the freezer to chill.

Then take some form of chocolate (I used frozen belgium chocolate-AMAZING) and melt it. then pour it overtop the squares. Then freeze it again until the chocolate hardens.

And VOILA! you have some amazingly tasty squares! Try it and enjoy! :)

And now I'm going to go book some flights...
