Heat, Hot, Hatchepsut

Hello from Luxor!! Just got off the ship after a week long cruise down the Nile which has been spectacular. The temples on the shorelines are incredible. Yesterday we flew down to Abu Simbel to see the temples there which were magnificent! It was 40 degrees mind you and i was dripping, but it was worth it!! One of the temples was the temple of Hatchepsut (thought i'd explain the title for y'all.

Every day when we haven't been looking at temples, we've been sitting poolside with drinks enjoying the sun and the breeze and the incredible and beautiful view of the Nile. Incredibly fertile on the banks followed by miles and miles of desert. wow. very cool. got to hold a crocodile (okay it wasn't huge dont' worry)

Tomorrow we fly back to Cairo and are going on a dinner cruise down the Nile there and then to see the pyramids and ride camels and see some other stuff too. Then back home on Saturday!! see you soon!! Stay tuned for some great pics!

Sounds like you're having tons of fun! That must be so weird seeing desert and lush vegetation right next to each other.
That's so cool you saw the templ of Hatchepsut! Eric and I watched a documentary on her so it would be fun to actually see in real life what they were talking about.(I think I'm thinking of the right person) Have a good rest of the week!

What a different world you are in, with all those ancient temples and rich history along the Nile. So nice to balance that with modern pleasures of swimming pools and cruises! Looking forward to seeing the pictures.
