Summer, Strawberries, Solstice

Today is June 21st which means SUMMER!!!!!

I saw crates of strawberries being delivered today and was in awe because for some reason that symbolized summer in that moment to me. And the rich redness in the strawberries, show the richness of experiences that will come this summer and the juices, the sweetness (I know I'm sappy, it's okay)

I must admit that in the past summer has not really been my favorite season. Well.. I don't know if I have an overly favorite season, but I think I am usually not around during the summer to fully enjoy it, but this summer will be different and I am STOKED! I made a bucket list for the summer with my youth and am excited to start checking some of the things off {once I find it I will share it here!}

Summer has started with 7am tennis. Not smart when you go to bed at 2am, but very fun nonetheless. Except for the fact that your muscles don't function properly with lack of sleep. But next time I expect to be spry and alert. And perhaps I shall relax on that lovely bench as well.
I love tennis and want to become an avid tennis player this summer {riiiiiight}. Hopefully the courts get fixed soon though. The first courts we went to had no fence and no nets. Minor detail. Good tennis players don't need fences surrounding the courts, right?

{Breakfast of champions! Cereal full of fruit and goodness!!}
And Chrystal won the competition, so she will get a prize once I decide what the prize shall be... Good work Chrystal! :)

This weekend I am going camping in Hope, followed by a missions trip to Mexico to build houses, followed by stagette in Whistler, hopefully followed by a trip to New York, followed by Desiree's wedding (but that one's local), followed by a trip to the island, followed by a trip to Portland, followed by a trip to AUSTRALIA!!!

(Okay, so maybe I won't be around that much... but in my mind I will be!!)

{My mom is funny. Yay for trying new fruit and being excited about it!}

This summer I'm looking forward to canoeing, trying new fruit, swimming, bbqs, bonfires, camping, traveling, youth events, musicals, concerts, movies, walks, kite flying, tennis, golfing, random adventures in Vancouver and so much more!!

Happy first day of Summer everyone! Enjoy!

Tennis, Tea, Turns

The last few days have been absolutely beautiful weather! So I pulled out the tennis rackets and played with a few different friends on a couple different days! I have to admit my arm is a bit sore. I guess they call that tennis elbow?

I like to make my friends do crazy jumps.. I mean, that's how they play tennis. We're pretty hardcore after all. Hardcore enough to get tennis elbow.

Taking a smoothie break

Last night I went out to Vancouver with my friend Vanessa and we met up with our friend Bridgid. The three of us get together every few months and it's always fantastic to catch up! I love friendships from as far back as high school that you can pick up and catch up and enjoy one another's company.

I love letter writing. Or just sending cards to people in the mail. And I must admit, i LOVE getting mail as well (so if anyone wants a pen pal, let me know!) I got this card from my friend Karen the other day and laughed quite hard at it and still giggle every time I see it (just because I'm THAT mature..) So I thought I'd share it with all of you! I'm thankful for days I get mail because it makes that day just even a little bit better!

Sometimes I wish life were prescribed with one way to go and no hard decisions. Well, okay, I don't really wish that, but I hate making decisions that I have to mull over. Generally I think of something and I do it without much thought following. Like, when I renovated my house, I'd go into the paint or flooring place, grab one thing that suited what I kind of wanted, and I'd go with it without looking at any other options. Some people would never be able to do that and would want to see all the options which is fine. But I like it simple. Choose something, stick with it and be satisfied with it. When I'm presented with a lot of good options it makes it so much harder. At times I wish I didn't have all the options. Right now I'm faced with a lot of differing life options, which makes it so much harder to decide. Because there's so many factors to consider. So many pros and cons for all of them. Sigh. Anyone want to make my decisions for me?

And so concludes my ramblings for today. Enjoy the start of a new week!!

Optimal, Oops, Obfuscate

Yesterday, I decided I would defy being sick and would go out and conquer the world (okay, not quite). I've been itching to do some physical activity despite my inability to breathe. So, I asked my friend Chrystal if she wanted to go play tennis. We later realized that we must be avid players, because it was:

a) pitch black outside
b) freezing cold
c) wet

But, we persevered and got a good hour of tennis in there (the hour was good, not necessarily my skills). It felt so great to move and we had a nice chat at Timmy's afterwards. However, I don't think it did wonders for me being sick. Oops. I feel like the headache is waning slightly however!

I have decided that I am going to try and post daily now. It is a lot more effort to check my blog so I figure I will make it rewarding for my three faithful readers so far!

have a fantastic day friends! I'm off to school for twelve hours! (FUN!)
